Norrlandsdagarna 2013

Norrlandsdagarna is an event organized by photographers, for photographers in northern Sweden. This year it was held at Norrlandsoperan in Umeå (my hometown). It was a great mixture of seminars by talented photographers working within photojournalism, fashion, commercial and fine art photography. They were all very interesting to listen to and after this weekend I feel inspired and I have got lots of new photo ideas.

It was great listening to Miss Aniela and learning how she creates her surreal images. In 2007 when I lived in Brighton I visited her debut solo exhibition at North Laine Gallery (where I also had some pictures exhibited the year after). It was great seeing how she has kept doing what she loves and made a success out of it.

The seminar that affected me the most was Linda Forsell, talking about the projects she is working with. I really admire photographers who document important issues to show the rest of the world what is going on. Please read more about the very important projects she is working with here: http://www.causeofdeathwoman.com/
