I met Katja for the first time ten years ago in Tväråbäck, a small village outside Umeå in the north of Sweden. It was through a "sister-village" project that she came together with some other kids from a village in Russia. They stayed with Swedish families and we became friends. The year later some other Swedes and I went to visit them in their village, I was 15 years old. A couple of years later my friend Linda and I went back to visit our friends again and to do a school project. These pictures are from those trips, taken with my first digital camera, a Canon Powershot with 2 megapixels.
Last week Katja drove from Russia to Sweden with two university friends. It was lovely seeing her again and hearing about her life now.
The girls wanted to see the sea and find some sea shells. They could not find any impressive shells but I think that they had a great time by the sea anyway.
